ABOUT

Senior Rabbi of Congregation Beth Israel of Colleyville. Former Rabbi/Cantor of Nachschon Minyan in Los Angeles

A Shattered World

At the age of sixteen, my world fractured irrevocably. My father, a man who embodied unwavering faith, was tragically taken in a senseless act of gun violence. Jewish traditions, once a source of solace and shared joy, became searing reminders of his absence. Grappling with a potent mix of anger and grief, I embarked on a years-long quest for answers, exploring a vast landscape of spiritual and psychological paths in the hope of healing.

Finding My Way Back

A few years later, a strong desire to reconnect with my heritage emerged. I felt drawn back to the core tenets of Judaism, the foundation of my identity. This quest led me to the Academy of Jewish Religion, where I ultimately received rabbinical ordination. Witnessing a similar sense of disconnect among others, I was compelled to create a more inclusive space. This passion resulted in the founding of Nachshon Minyan in 2008, a vibrant community that welcomes unaffiliated Jews seeking to rekindle their connection to their faith.

Guiding Your Journey

Judaism is like a vibrant mosaic, each teaching & ritual imbued with meaning waiting to be unearthed. My passion lies in guiding you on a journey of rediscovery, helping you reconnect with your Jewish heritage in an authentic way. There's nothing more rewarding than witnessing individuals weave their own unique threads into the rich tapestry of Judaism.  Are you ready to breathe new life into time-tested traditions? Let's connect and explore how Judaism can add purpose and meaning to your life today.
